Built on a simple idea:
if the conditions are right,
adaptation is inevitable.
MORPHY's name and philosophy draws from the Interstellar interpretation of Murphy's Law — not "anything that can go wrong will go wrong," but its inverse: if you place an athlete in the right physiological conditions, improvement is not optional. It happens.
The problem
Serious endurance athletes — runners, cyclists, triathletes, open water swimmers — already train hard. The question they face every morning isn't whether to train. It's how to train today, given everything their body has been through.
Generic training apps don't answer that question. They deliver pre-written plans, motivational nudges, and social feeds. None of that tells a trail runner with a CTL of 60 and a TSB of -18 what to do at 6am on a Tuesday.
MORPHY does.
"MORPHY assumes you will train regardless. Its job is to make sure you do it in a way your body can actually absorb."
Core principles
The ENGINE decides. The LLM explains.
Training recommendations come exclusively from the physiological engine — ATL, CTL, TSB, ACWR, injury risk. The conversational AI layer contextualizes those decisions. It never overrides them.
Your zones. Not population averages.
Every heart rate calculation uses your real FCmax and resting HR via the Karvonen formula. The 220-age formula is explicitly rejected. Garbage in, garbage out.
Trail and ultra are first-class citizens.
Elevation gain is factored into every TRIMP calculation. Mountain runners, stair climbers, open water swimmers — their training stress is modeled correctly from the start.
Silence is positive information.
MORPHY PACE, the real-time race director, only speaks when something requires your attention. If you're in the zone, it stays quiet. Constant alerts are noise, not intelligence.
No gamification. No social. No motivation.
MORPHY is a clinical tool for serious athletes. No streaks, no badges, no leaderboards. The athlete already has the motivation — MORPHY provides the decision-making infrastructure.
